I rarely have time to update my web page, but every now and then I try to post something of interest.
I spent four years in Japan, doing my Phd at the University of Tokyo. Though at the time I felt annoyed by various details, such as the fact that Japanese doorways tend to be substantially shorter than me, in retrospect it was a great experience. To keep up with my Japanese, I sometimes translate articles from the Asahi Shimbun and other newspapers. You can view some of my translations here.
